Why Prune a Tree?
Pruning should always have a clear purpose. It may be needed to manage branches growing towards roofs, boundaries or access routes, improve clearance, remove dead or damaged wood, or keep a tree at a more suitable size.
The amount and type of work must suit the individual tree. We aim to achieve the required result without removing more live growth than necessary.
Reasons Customers Contact Us
Overextended growth — Managing branches that have become too large for the available space.
Limited clearance — Creating suitable clearance around roofs, paths, gardens and nearby structures.
Dead or damaged branches — Removing weakened growth where appropriate to improve safety.
Ongoing management — Maintaining established trees before they become difficult to manage.
Is Permission Needed Before Pruning a Tree?
Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or are located within a conservation area. In these cases, permission or prior notice may be required before any form of tree work can begin.
JRT Tree Care can check whether your tree is protected and, where required, prepare and submit the relevant application or notice to the local authority on your behalf. This service is provided completely free of charge.
Checks Before Work Begins
We can help with:
