Tree Felling & Removal

Carefully planned tree removal and sectional dismantling across Orpington, Oxted, Kent and Surrey.

When a tree is dead, damaged, dangerous or no longer suitable for its location, removal may be the safest and most practical option. JRT Tree Care carries out straightforward tree felling as well as controlled sectional dismantling for trees in confined or difficult spaces.

Every job is assessed and carefully planned to protect nearby buildings, sheds, fences, gardens and neighbouring properties.

RECENT PROJECT

Selective Removal of a Hazardous Main Stem

The problem

This tree had developed two main stems. One had begun leaning dangerously over the front garden and required removal, while the other main stem could be retained.

Our approach

The leaning stem was dismantled gradually in manageable sections. Once the crown and upper sections had been removed, the remaining trunk was carefully taken down to the main union.

The result

The hazardous leaning stem was removed, reducing the risk over the front garden while the healthy, safely positioned stem was retained.

Tree Felling & Removal Options

Every tree and location is different. The size and condition of the tree, available access, surrounding buildings and the amount of open space all help determine the most appropriate removal method.

JRT Tree Care assesses the tree and working area before deciding how the work should be carried out safely and with minimal disruption to the surrounding property.

Sectional Dismantling — Trees close to buildings or in confined spaces can be dismantled gradually in controlled sections, using climbing and rigging techniques where required.

Straight Tree Felling — Where sufficient open space is available, a suitable tree may be felled from ground level in a carefully planned direction.

Dangerous or Damaged Trees — Dead, damaged or unstable trees can be carefully assessed and removed when they present an unacceptable risk to people or surrounding property.

Selective Stem Removal — Where appropriate, an individual hazardous stem can be removed while retaining the healthy, safely positioned parts of the tree.

Is Permission Needed Before Removing a Tree?

Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or are located within a conservation area. In these cases, permission or prior notice may be required before any form of tree work can begin.

JRT Tree Care can check whether your tree is protected and, where required, prepare and submit the relevant application or notice to the local authority on your behalf.

Before Work Begins

We can help with:

• Checking for a Tree Preservation Order
• Confirming whether the tree is in a conservation area
• Preparing and submitting the required application or notice
• Planning the most suitable removal method

This service is provided completely free of charge.
